Zealandia is a non-profit fully fenced eco-sanctuary in New Zealand, providing services and experiences that rely on the marketing team to drive tourism sales. Collaborating with science communicators and conservation enthusiasts, my purpose was to share stories that demonstrated Zealandia's mission and brand story through engaging visual communication design. Story telling primarily focused on protecting endangered species, climate change, taking action at home, community engagement, as well as encouraging people to spend more time in nature.





Take it all in Campaign Design Lead | Concept Curator
The summer campaign was the largest visitation drive of the year and with the return of tourism to New Zealand post-COVID. Our aim for the summer was for visitors to feel refreshed and rejuvenated after visiting Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne. Our motive behind the messaging was to offer an escape from the chaos of everyday life to a place that is calming and rejuvenating for the soul, healing your wairua. Zealandia’s valley has a lot to see and experience and has a special “buzz” about it; the mouri/lifeforce of the sanctuary. To experience this buzz, you need to be mindful of each of your senses and be open to new perspectives.
Design Process
Collaborating with a team, our goal was to shift the brand away from the traditional bold primary colours of orange and black and introduce the public to softer, more emotive secondary colours, starting with ‘Takahe Teal’ to combat these moody scenes. My main mission was to spark emotion through imagery and use of color to invite tourists to feel the spirit/mouri within the sanctuary.

This campaign's aim was to highlight species, flora and fauna which rely wetlands and lakes. We shared information about plants and animals that live in our waterways and stories about what Zealandia is doing to restore these ecosystems
Split into three phases, the campaign aims to educate members, visitors and local Wellingtonians about freshwater ecosystems, the species that rely on them and how the health of freshwater systems impacts surrounding environments. The campaign also aims to get people questioning the impact they have on local freshwater systems and the steps they can take to ensure the health of their local freshwater catchments.

"Freshwater Fun these school holidays" was my first opportunity to lead a campaign. This was a mini 2 week campaign within a wider 6 month campaign with a similar tone of voice and ascetics. The "Know Your Wai" campaign was designed to be flexible for various shaped advertising requirements, as well as with the intention to switch an element out to represent another mini campaign, such as this one.

This is a report analysing the organisation's tone of voice, target audience and guidelines on social media platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. The purpose of this report is to ensure all content shared online completes the following:

The correct language and tone of voice are used for their specific target audience on each platform. For example - Zealandia's Twitter following is very different to the organisations following on TikTok.

Ensures all content shared fits into one of the three communication pillars and has an underlining 'WHY'/'PURPOSE'.
